Researching: ONDREJ, ONDREY
I have just started researching my ancesters and have not gotten very far. A review of
National Archive records indicate the following relatives from the 1900 census: John Ondrej
imigrated in 1879. Place of birth is listed as Hungary, date of birth Jan 18, 1856. Wife
is Annie, born March 1864. Children are: Emil born June 1882 in Ohio, Mary, born April 1884
in Ohio, Joseph born Aug 1887 in Ohio, Annie born September 1889 in Montana, Frank born
November 1893 in Montana, and George born November 1899 in Ohio. With the family lived a
hired girl with the name Annie Andrej born May 1881 in Hungary who immigrated in 1898 and
a servant by the name of Paul Bertha born June 1881 in Hungary who immigrated in 1896.
The census of 1910 lists this household minus the hired girl and servant and now lists the
children as: Joseph, Anna, Frank, and George all born in Ohio with John and Anna's
nationality listed as Slovak and place of birth Hun, Slovak. I have no idea where in
Slovakia my family originated or how/where they entered the U.S. Any information on the
surname Ondrey or Ondrej would be appreciated.

Researching: ARANYOS, ARANYOSOVA, TAKAC, TAKACOVA
I am looking for the exact birth and death records of my grandmother, Maria
Aranyos Takac(in Slovak: Maria Aranyosova Takacova), who died in Kosicein
the eighties. She lived long with her husband Ladislav Takac, on the street
Trieda Sovietskej Armady (79, prenumbered 85), Kosice, Slovakia.
Her husband, Ladislav Takac, died also in the eighties in Kosice.
Before that street they lived in/near the Hlavna ulica(?)in Kosice.
They had two sons, Ladislav Jan Takacs, who emigrated to South Africa, and
Gabriel Takac, my father, who was born in 1945, and died in the ninties.
I would like to get information about my grandmother's parents, sisters and
brothers. I only know, that she was born (or lived) in Sighet in Romania
(Maramuressighet, or Sighetu Marmatei), and her brothe, Mihaly Aranyos,
lived (and died already?) in Hungary, Nyiregyhaza.
They had to have some brothers and sisters, who had to emigrate to the
States in the 30's (the years I do not know exactly).
I would like to know more about Maria Aranyos Takacs religion, and specially
the religion of her parents. Or their origin. (were they Jewish?).
Please, write me as soon as possible! Thank you very much!

Researching: NEMETH, KOMLOSI, KARAFS
Looking for information for genealogy. My Great Grandfather was Fabian Nemeth, born
in Sopron, Hungary. He married Elizabeth Komlosi. He was a Security Officer, I think, at

who had a brother Steve and a sister, Agnes. Agnes died at an early age. Brigetta
had sisters named Anna, Borbala, Itel and Rose and brothers Eleck and Mihaly. There is
question as to Nemeth first names; I found a notation in Mother's records saying that
Elizabeth was not quite 18 years old when she married a widower, John Nemeth with 3 children.
One died and John and Agnes survived. Elizabeth had 6 children of her own. Can anyone
